Benefits of Herbal Facial Steaming

Herbal facial steaming is a gentle, effective, and affordable way to detoxify and cleanse the lungs. Steaming with fresh or dried aromatic herbs helps to moisten and soothe lungs that have been dried out by smoke. Steaming also hydrates our skin, improves blood circulation, and opens up pores for easier removal of excess dirt and oils.

Herbal Facial Steam Ingredients:

  • Aromatic herbs such as rosemary, thyme, eucalyptus, peppermint, or sage. These can be used fresh or dried

  • Essential oils of the aromatic herbs listed above

  • A large metal or glass bowl

  • A large towel

  • Near boiling hot water

Herbal Facial Steam Instructions:

  • Place about a handful of aromatic herbs or a few drops of essential oil into a large bowl

  • Add 1-2 quarts of near boiling hot water into the bowl

  • Place face about 10 inches above the bowl, and drape a large towel over head to create a steam tent

  • With closed eyes and slow, gentle breathing, allow the steam to penetrate face for 3-5 minutes

  • Repeat as often as needed
