Because a skincare routine helps to cleanse and restore your skin to look and feel its best.

If you’re a skincare minimalist or simply into skinamilism, you may want to consider how to build a less is more approach into your daily routine.

That’s why using high quality, natural skincare products with simple, yet effective ingredients as part of your daily skincare routine is key!

But most importantly -  have a routine that you can stick to so that you can optimize your skin’s health and achieve the best results.

In this post, we are going to discuss the importance of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin.

We will also give you a guide on how to do each of these steps correctly.

By following a routine, you will be able to achieve healthy, beautiful skin that looks radiant and healthy.

Let’s get started!

The Importance of Having a Skincare Routine

Skincare routines are important for two main reasons: they support clean and moisturized skin.

If you neglect either of these two steps, your skin will become dry, irritated, and prone to premature aging.

So, following a consistent routine that includes effective skincare products you can trust is essential to enhancing your skin’s texture and appearance.

When it comes to finding a skincare routine that works for you, here are three guidelines for you to keep in mind:

1) Consistency

Consistency is key to having glowy, clear skin that lasts.

In your skincare routine, consistency can be broken down into two main components: when/how many times you do your skincare routine and what products you use.

You can’t expect to complete your skincare routine in half the time and achieve your desired results.

This is because the other half of the time you aren’t doing your routine, you are exposing your skin to harmful bacteria and other risks that can negatively impact your skin.

An effective skincare routine should comprise the same products you use consistently to see results.

For example, don’t try 3 different types of facial cleansers in the same week.

Only stick with one new product type at a time to ensure that it's compatible with your skin and won’t cause any unwanted side effects or irritation.

If you choose to experiment with products, do so one at a time so you can compare which one(s) worked vs. which one(s) didn’t work for your skin.

2) Stick to the Basics

Creating an effective skincare routine for yourself doesn’t need to be overwhelming!

In essence, a skincare routine can be broken down into three main steps:

  • Cleansing
  • This is one if not the most important step in your skincare routine.Washing your face to remove dirt, makeup, and excess oils so you can prevent clogged pores which may lead to acne or breakouts.Be sure to use a gentle cleanser that does not contain harsh chemicals.

  • Toning
  • Removing any traces of dirt, makeup, or impurities on your face and restoring your skin’s pH

  • Moisturizing
  • Adding moisture to your face to prevent dryness, premature aging, and to lock in moisture and hydration.

Other skincare steps such as exfoliating, applying facial serums and sunscreens can help elevate your skincare routine to enhance and protect your skin further.

However, more steps in your routine doesn’t necessarily equate to a better routine.

    3) Trust the Process

When it comes to skincare routines, remember that you can’t expect to wake up with “perfect” skin overnight.

It requires time, patience, and consistency to achieve visible results, usually about 3-4 weeks.

So, be patient, and consistently stick with your skincare routine morning and evening

If after some time you think another product may be better for you, introduce new products one at a time so you can have a better understanding of which one your skin favors over the others
